Setelah melihat beritanya pertama kali di blognya Benny Chandra.com, daku pun tertarik melihat penampakannya disini. Bubu awards ini merupakan kontes / kompetisi bergengsi desain web yang digelar sejak tahun 2001. Namun sayangnya kompetisi ini tidak berlangsung pada tahun 2004.
Pada tahun ini, Bubu Awards bertemakan "PARIWISATA INDONESIA” (INDONESIAN TOURISM) untuk mendukung dan mengangkat citra pariwisata indonesia.
Terdapat perubahan kategori yang dilombakan setiap tahunnya sesuai dengan perkembangan jaman. Dan untuk tahun ini, yang diperlombakan adalah kategori yakni :
Individual
Sub kategorinya : Batam, Flores, Lombok, Medan, Manado, Makasar, Nias, Padang & Solo
Corporate
Sub kategorinya : Commerce, E-Commerce, Government, Education, News & Entertainment, Organizations/Communities & E-Health.
People's Choice Awards ("Best Web Celebrities Awards" and "Best Blog Awards")
Ngga ada sub kategorinya.

Namun khusus untuk kategori "Best Blog Awards" nih syaratnya :
- The blog must be kept by an Indonesian Internet user or a small group of Indonesian Internet users.
- It must have existed for more than six months and must be updated regularly
- It must use a specialised publishing tool such as typepad, blogger.com, blogspirit or an equivalent content management system. Sites that do not use a standard online publishing tool but function in an identical manner to a weblog will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Blogs can be in English or Bahasa Indonesia or both or may contain other languages/dialects.
- Use of obscene languages, pornographic pictures and offensive content (racial, religious, and discriminating) are strictly forbidden.
- Organizers of BuBu Awards, reserves the right to disqualify entries if it deem to have not meet the requirements of the event.
- Organizer of Bubu Awards has the rights to publish the entries in any media without prior notice to owners. Copyrights will still be owned by the owners.
- Free for Registration
- The judges decisions are final.
